The filter is good. Changes the taste of water - makes it much better. A couple things broke while fitting or in transit. However, Mike went out of the way to send us replacements right away. Ultimately, everything got fixed, and now we are enjoying it.

. 8-1-26 Update: I was contacted by the Head of the Healthier Elements shortly after posting my review. The Healthier Elements team worked with me to correct this problem. The Healthier Elements team looked in the Carbon size issues I had and we determined I received a bag that had been a one off bad/heavily handed bag, that might have had the carbon component squashed/broken down to small particular. The Healthier Elements team has sen me a new Bag of carbon component and this bag was in MUCH better shape with its carbon size. Healthier Elements does really care about their customers and the products they sell. AA+ Customer service care. Thank you. Your new life lobg customer William. Nice to see a Company that TRULY Cares. Original Writeup: 7-15-26 the vendor does provide the correct carbon replacement or Salt free components for a Pelican water filter tanks. Both the carbon and salt free media is x3 smaller than my original Pelican components. The 1st run through my Pelican tank, with this carbon component, the smaller carbon mix of particular it passed through Pelican filter at the bottom feed tube. I was see carbon media in my house water. Had drain my Pelican tank as not to cause house water problem. Need to drain that tank next. Not recommend. Waste of time and money. The original carbon pulled from my Pelican tank, after 5 years, is still larger than what was sent to me. The salt free media that was sent is the same thing. X3 small particular.
Thanks so much for the feedback, and we're sorry for the frustration! The carbon in your kit is the exact media Pentair currently specifies for your system. Activated carbon is made in different mesh sizes, and manufacturers do update materials over time, so it's normal for new media to look a bit different than what was originally installed years ago. Used carbon also naturally darkens and changes shape as it absorbs contaminants, so comparing it to fresh media isn't really apples-to-apples.
